Introduction to the Gallery: Tchogha Zanbil
The ziggurat of the Elamite complex of Tchogha Zanbil. The only existing ziggurat I know of outside Iraq. It is located about 30 km southeast of Susa. Dates from 1250 BC it was built by King Untash Napirisha.
These photos were taken on my second trip across Iran. This gallery may be viewed in connection with the memoir: “My Introduction to Iran” under the heading ‘Personal Life’.
