Introduction to Slovak National Galleries
The Slovak National Gallery is actually a network of galleries in Slovakia. I visited two of them: Zloven Castle and Bratislava’s Esterházy Palace. The one in Zloven is mostly religious art. There are various galleries in the Bratislava collection and I include a small selection of the wonderful paintings of Slovak rural society by the artist designated as Slovakias “National Artist”, Martin Benka, as well as a selection from a display of old advertisements.
